Loess

Imagine you're trying to keep your house clean, but every time you open the windows, a fine layer of dust settles on your furniture. This is similar to how loess forms, as fine particles are carried by the wind and eventually settle over large areas, creating deposits of sediment. Just like the dust in your home is transported through the air and settles on surfaces, loess consists of tiny particles that are blown by the wind and accumulate on the ground, creating layers of fine sediment over time.
