Real World Example

Imagine trying to inflate a balloon with a small hand pump. The way you control the pump handle to push air into the balloon is similar to how the diaphragm works to help you breathe. Just as the pump handle moves up and down to draw in and push out air, the diaphragm moves up and down beneath your lungs to create space for air to be drawn in and expelled, ensuring your lungs inflate and deflate effectively.
