Real World Example

Imagine you're assembling a piece of flat-pack furniture, and you accidentally start with the wrong part, only to realize later that everything fits perfectly in the end. This is similar to how protostomes develop, where the initial opening (blastopore) in the early embryo becomes the mouth, and the rest of the digestive system follows suit. Just like starting with the wrong piece but ending with a functional piece of furniture, in protostomes, starting with the mouth might seem backwards, but it leads to a fully formed and functional organism.
