Hypertonic Solution

A solution with a higher solute concentration than that of cells in that solution

Real World Example

Imagine trying to fit into a crowded subway train during rush hour, where there's barely any space to breathe. In a similar way, a hypertonic solution is like that packed train, filled with more solute particles than the less crowded environment inside the cells. Just as the pressure inside the train pushes people out to make room, the higher solute concentration in a hypertonic solution causes water to move out of the cells, attempting to balance the concentration difference, much like people leaving the train to relieve the crowding.
