When a water becomes overly enriched with nutrients which causes rapid growth of algae

Real World Example

Imagine hosting a party and accidentally ordering too much food, leading to leftovers cluttering your kitchen. Just like how the extra food overwhelms your space, when a body of water becomes overly enriched with nutrients, it results in an overgrowth of algae. In both scenarios, the abundance—of food in your kitchen or nutrients in the water—causes an imbalance, with the algae in the water acting like the leftovers, taking over the space and leading to further issues like pollution or spoilage.
