Innate Behavior
Loading image...
An inherited behavior that does not have to be learned, also called instinct
Real World Example
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night, fumbling to find the light switch in your own home without really thinking about it. This action is similar to innate behavior because, just as you instinctively know where the switch is without needing to learn it each time, animals perform certain behaviors naturally without prior experience. In this analogy, your familiarity with the location of the light switch represents an instinct, an automatic response hardwired into your brain, just like a bird knowing how to build a nest without ever being taught.
