The process of dropping sediment by water or wind

Real World Example

Imagine coming home after a long day and taking off your shoes, only to notice that a small pile of dirt has accumulated by the door. This is similar to the process of deposition, where water or wind carries sediments and then drops them in a new location. Just like how the dirt from your shoes gets left behind at the door, water or wind moves sediment until it slows down or stops, causing the particles to settle and accumulate in a new area.
