Photosphere

The surface layer of the Sun that gives off light
Real World Example
Imagine trying to see inside a lit-up house from the outside on a bright day; the sunlight is so intense that it's hard to make out the details inside through the windows. Similarly, the photosphere is like the Sun's "window," the outermost layer that radiates the sunlight we see, masking the deeper layers of the Sun. Just as the bright sunlight obscures your view into the house, the photosphere is the visible "surface" that conceals the Sun's complex interior, while being the main source of the light we perceive.
