Siphon:
Imagine trying to drink from a juice box using a straw when the box is nearly empty. Just like you have to suck on the straw to draw in the remaining liquid, mollusks use a siphon to bring water in and push it out. The straw in the juice box is analogous to the hollow tube of the mollusk's siphon, and just as you create suction to move the juice, the mollusk uses this mechanism to control the flow of water for feeding and respiration.
