Sympathetic Nervous System

The part of the autonomic nervous system that controls the organs, and prepares the body for times of stress

Real World Example

Imagine you're getting ready for an important job interview, and suddenly your heart starts racing and your palms get sweaty. This is similar to how the sympathetic nervous system prepares your body to handle stress by activating various organs to get you ready for action. Just like how your body instinctively reacts to the stress of the interview by increasing your heart rate and sweating, the sympathetic nervous system automatically kicks in during stressful situations to prepare you by increasing heart rate, redirecting blood flow, and releasing energy, so you're ready to tackle whatever challenges come your way.
