The processes which break down rocks
Real World Example
Imagine how a new pair of shoes gradually wears out over time with each step you take and exposure to the elements. This is similar to how rocks undergo weathering as they are broken down by natural forces like wind, water, and temperature changes. Just as the soles of your shoes might scuff and the fabric might fade or tear due to constant use and exposure, rocks also experience physical and chemical changes that alter their structure, ultimately breaking them down into smaller pieces.
