Ectotherm

An animal whose body temperature depends on its environment
Real World Example
Imagine trying to keep your house warm in the winter without a thermostat or heater, relying solely on the warmth coming from outside. Just like your house, which depends on the external weather to regulate its temperature, an ectotherm relies on its environment to control its body temperature. In this analogy, the house represents the ectotherm, the outside temperature is the environment, and the absence of internal heating is akin to the ectotherm's lack of internal temperature regulation mechanisms.
