Open Cluster

A group of no more than a few thousand stars, all of which are about the same age

Real World Example

Imagine you're at a high school graduation ceremony where all the students are about the same age and have spent the last few years growing and learning together. This setting is similar to an open cluster in space, where a group of stars forms at roughly the same time from the same molecular cloud and remains relatively close together. Just as these students share a common starting point and have developed alongside each other, the stars in an open cluster are born from the same cosmic materials and have similar ages, representing a celestial "graduating class" traveling through the galaxy together.
