The energy in a wave

Real World Example

Imagine trying to communicate with someone across a crowded room at a party. The louder you speak, the more likely your voice will be heard over the noise, just like how a wave with greater amplitude carries more energy and can travel further or be more noticeable. In this analogy, your voice's volume is akin to the wave's amplitude: the louder (or larger) it is, the more energy it has to overcome background noise, just as a wave with a higher amplitude has more energy to overcome obstacles and travel greater distances.
