Insoluble

A term used to describe a substance that cannot be dissolved in a given solvent

Real World Example

Imagine trying to mix oil with water while cooking and watching as they stubbornly refuse to blend, no matter how hard you stir. This is similar to insoluble substances, where certain materials simply will not dissolve in a particular solvent, much like how oil won’t mix with water. Just as oil floats on water without blending, an insoluble substance remains separate and undissolved in its solvent, highlighting its resistance to mixing or dissolving, much like oil and water.
