A sediments that are derived from the erosion of rocks on land
Real World Example
Imagine trying to keep your living room clean when dust continuously accumulates from outside. Just like dust settles on your furniture from the air, terrigenous sediments are particles that accumulate in the ocean, originating from the erosion of rocks on land. Just as dust is carried by the wind into your home, bits of rock and soil are carried by rivers and wind into the ocean, where they settle on the seafloor, creating layers of sediment.
