Imagine trying to keep track of how many times the traffic light changes from red to green while waiting in your car at an intersection. This is similar to the concept of frequency, where you count how many times something happens within a specific time frame, like a second. Just as you count the light changes to understand the rhythm of traffic, frequency measures how often a cycle or vibration occurs each second, and this is expressed in hertz (Hz), much like counting the number of light changes per minute gives you a sense of traffic flow.
