Temperature

How hot or cold something is, it is determined by the kinetic energy of its particles
Real World Example
Imagine you're at a crowded party, and the noise level keeps rising as more people start talking and moving around. This scenario is similar to how temperature works because, just like the noise increases with more movement and energy from the party-goers, the temperature of an object rises with the increased movement and energy of its particles. So, just as the loudness of a party is determined by the activity and energy of the people there, the temperature of an object is determined by the kinetic energy of its particles, with more energy leading to a "hotter" atmosphere or object.
