Richter Scale

A measurement of earthquake magnitude, based on seismic wave size
Real World Example
Imagine trying to gauge how loud a concert is just by how much your body vibrates from the bass. Much like these vibrations help you sense the intensity of the music, the Richter scale measures the magnitude of an earthquake by examining the size of seismic waves. Just as stronger bass causes more noticeable vibrations, larger seismic waves indicate a more powerful earthquake, with the Richter scale quantifying this intensity to help us understand the earthquake's true power.
